I have been coaching a client who had an addiction to opiates. She completed an outpatient rehab program and continued coaching with me. Her transformation was realizing that her addiction to opiates was nothing more than an escape from the belief that she was unloved and had severe abandonment issues. Once we addressed the feelings around those issues she was able to understand that before she can be loved by anyone else she must first be willing to love herself. This realization created a major emotionally liberating experience and we were able to address the core issue of self love.

I have a client who had been a juror on a major criminal case. He thought he should write a book about his experiences, the only problem was that he was stalling part way through the process and didn’t know why. After a few coaching sessions, he came to realize that he was doing this because he felt he had to, and abandoned the project. He is much happier now working in the behavioral health field.
